Our Mission

Service above Self

The impact of the Rotary Club of Downtown Houma can be seen in a wide variety of projects, from large-scale infrastructure initiatives like the Intracoastal Canal Tunnel to supporting local non-profits.

By participating in our events, like the Bourbon & Butts Cook-Off, you are directly helping us fund meaningful projects, such as:

  • Providing bulletproof vests to the Houma Police Department's K-9 Unit.

  • Beautifying the basketball goals and outdoor play area at Legion Park School, our adopted elementary school.

The Annual Bourbon & Butts Cook-Off

Our signature event is the annual Bourbon & Butts Cook-Off, a spirited competition that combines the best of Louisiana's culinary traditions with a love for great bourbon.

Held in downtown Houma, the Cook-Off brings together local cooking teams to battle it out for the title of "Pork Butt Champion." Visitors can sample a variety of delicious barbecue dishes, enjoy sweet treats and refreshing beverages. Live music keeps the energy high throughout the day, making it an unforgettable event for all ages.

The Bourbon & Butts Cook-Off is more than just a BBQ festival; it is a vital fundraiser that helps us support our ongoing community service projects. We invite you to join us for this unique event and help us make a positive impact.
